(rare soundtrack to the surfin' movie of the same name by Hal Jepsen; the music on here covers a wide range... from loungy, marin-vybed drifter-Pop and hooky easy-listening flakery to Zappa-esque, hi-tension Fusion khool, spacey drift-boards w/a SPIRIT typo twist as for elevated scapes... and fuzz-box powered Psychdelic-Rock w/shaky rhythms ("stone crazy" by Bozone(!) ...performed by bands that run by names like The Dragons feat. Dennis Dragon (of JOYOUS NOISE-fame) and his brothers and sisters!! ... Richard Henn & Co., Rockin' Foo, Al Oakie & friends... Dennis Dragon's drumming is just plain fookin' amazing... appears to me like they speeded it up in the studio! ...and the production job is next to brilliant; double-set w/plenty o' cool pics on the inside and rather stoned liners by Doug Dragon (well, he looks like the bar-keeper back in the daze of the Red Dog Saloon... but that's another story...) oh yes, there's a 45 too coming w/ this double-set; it's by a band called "The Protein Bros." (no kiddin'!) and it sure could be rite off the album but it isn't! the band feat. a Dragon and a Henn (how come that??...nice vinyl plays EX to Near Mint with in-audible marks..well, a light 'click' here & another there..NO issues worth reporting; Cover has general wear and seam-splits on top (from middle to right corner) which is partly taped, cover art-work in general is not affected though; inside spine of Fold Open Cover has a 5cm split (middle) 2 labels have a black marker dot (see pics) No poster insert...45 is EX!) | |||
