Sammy Walker Song For Patty (Folkways) M- / M- U.S.'1975 125.00
(orig. U.S. print of mid-70's debut release by most authentic U.S. Folk-guitar stringin' minstrel (of 22 years in age) with a voice that sounds like Big Bob never existed!! ... Sammy carries the heritage of Woody G. wide across the 70's plains (of the 20th century) and he's able to rend a definate crystal stamp to the so-called topic-song... a swift flow in his wooden-box pickin' art, a warm gentle voice ripe with a subtle elequence that gives hints to some mercurial flicker in keen eyes! ... these recordings could easily get mistaken for early 60's recordings when young bardes came ramblin' to that New Yorker Village with a sackful of poems and a guitar! Sammy sings about Patricia Hearst, a young californian lady who did her own revolution-thing in the late 60's, about Johnny Strozier, a young black man waiting imprisoned in a Georgia jail ( ...nobody ever told him why he is there!) ... about a testimony of a dying lady, a funny farm blues ... cover version of 'I ain't got no home' (orig. written by Woody G.) and 'bound for glory' , written by Phil Ochs who by the way thinks big of Sammy Walker and he produced this album and sings harmony-vocs on before mentioned song! comes with insert-booklet that has notes to the songs and even a Dylan quotation!!)

"decicated to all those who have found themselves with a razorblade poised over their wrist and never taken the trouble to use it - I've been there also" (from the back-cover of this album)  ...title is plucked from "The Naked Lunch" by William S. Burroughs... and this may help explain some par-e-gorisms abound here! ...and then the sleeve (!-!) ...and what the hell is a doncaster???)
